Fluctus Cogitationes
The inspiration for this piece came from The Great Wave off Kanagawa (1831) by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1841).
The work was created during one of the lockdowns in the COVID-19 pandemic. Classes couldn't be held at school, and to keep my mind on glass, I came up with the idea of transforming the flow of a turbulent time into an image. Fluctus Cogitationes essentially means "a wave of thoughts." During the lockdown, we were all left to ourselves, and for me, that included a constant flow of thoughts. Some thoughts were sharp, but all of them are held together by a golden thread and can be carried around.
